the Agency of Visible Women.
We’re an artist network for women, trans and marginalised genders. We’re based in Southend-on-Sea in Essex but are inclusive of those outside of our location.
We started life as a fictional institution we invented as the title for an exhibition – playing with the notion that visibility can increase agency for women.
Since our inception in 2017 and the exhibition in 2018, we’ve been working together to create opportunities for women in the arts. We host workshops, “consultations”, residencies, reading groups, care packages and exhibitions and much, much more.
